I've had a couple of runs out in the car over the last couple of months, just to keep it in use. Each time, I've had to either trickle charge the battery, or jump start it - there's only the clock connected, so I think that the battery is losing charge. Since it needs all the charge it can muster, to turn over nearly 6 litres of V8 engine, I splashed out on a red-top optima battery, which is supposed to keep its charge longer.

Just to be certain, I also bought a solar charger that connects into the cigar lighter (which is live even with ignition off). Solar panel inside back window facing the sun, job's a good un!

So, today I'm going to the Phantoms car show near Stirling. Car turns over and starts first time! Who's your daddy?

This show is mainly custom cars and hot rods, rather than "classics", so it's a wee bit different.

There's only so much time you can spend looking at cars that are even as good as these, so after a couple of tours and visits to the trader stalls - oh and the food van - we're ready to leave.
